Disgusting: Retired general calls Trump a failure after president slams Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden
Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling on Sunday said that President Donald Trumps treatment of a retired Navy admiral is disgusting after the president claimed that the former SEAL had taken too long to kill Osama bin Laden.
During an interview with Fox News, Trump lashed out at retired Navy Admiral William H. McRaven, who lead the effort to take down the terrorist mastermind.
Hes a Hillary Clinton backer! the president insisted. It would be nice if we got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner.
Hertling later told CNNs Fredricka Whitfield that Trump had insulted a true servant of the U.S. Constitution.
Id use one word, Hertling said. And thats disgusting. You know, everyone knows Bill McRaven as being the guy that led the bin Laden raid.
Having someone like the president of the United States, a man that holds an office thats supposed to represent all people and who says he supports the military, to just dismiss this great American hero as a guy who was a Hillary Clinton lover, which is patently not true, is just really disgusting, he explained.

Definition of cretin
1 often offensive : one afflicted with cretinism
2 informal : a stupid, vulgar, or insensitive person : CLOD, LOUT
About covers it.

(8,200 posts)A hollow creature without a conscience and devoid of empathy. He lashes out like a blind enraged monster. Everything he he touches is corrupted with it particular stench. He is a rare creature; a cretin without one redeeming characteristic. Uninhibited, he would take his place among those whose names are met with intense revulsion.

(1,376 posts)Adm. McRaven had a distinguished career of almost four decades in the USN, and saw active combat service in multiple conflicts over that period; he is a recipient of the DSM (twice), Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, etc.
As an example of the type of leader he is, here's his commencement speech at UT:
[link:http://
Adm. McRaven is a man of demonstrated courage, dignity, integrity, daring, audacity, intelligence, and professionalism; he is a true patriot and and an exemplar of an officer, a leader, and a sailor.
Mr. Trump is a coward, a criminal, and a traitor.

You have to be damn far gone down the koolaid road to pretend you don't see the dishonor writ large all over the republican misleader, and his cabal of subby republican symps.

As always, he's a coward, but he hates being reminded of that reality. He's still the same scared, twisted little Mama's boy his father was disgusted by; there's a reason they sent him away to a military high school to "grow up," but he never did.

(86,794 posts)that he went this route decades ago because he couldn't stand being such a loser? Serial, he can't take not being praised and he bombed out in the US so he has, maybe been on a grudge for this long and has vowed to bring us down for not adoring him? like that fucking nightmare in Santa Barbara who killed a bunch of people because he couldn't get laid? I've been wondering if that is his twisted rationale for his desire to destroy the country.

(1,204 posts)To see the cultist continue to defend him despite the fact he goes after so many people and institutions that conservatives always viewed as a sacred cows is amazing. Even more amazing considering his criticisms are not even close to being rational in any way.
It's interesting too because I also follow a fair number of conservatives on twitter, and they they despise Trump as much as any of the more liberal folks I follow. Those conservatives also have many regular folks followers who seem to consider themselves conservatives often times comment how much they dislike Trump and no longer consider themselves republicans. Unlike the fake "walk away" idiocy, these people are actual people. I don't see how Trump can continue to have any sort of popularity when everyone who is even slight left despises him and so many people who are on the right also despise him.

(10,252 posts)1. He got Bin Laden on Obama's watch. And as we all know Obama (in Trump's eyes) is not really an American, and can't possibly have ever done anything worthwhile. So anyone connected to Obama is less than, much less than deserving of accolades.
2. McRaven supported Hillary.

He is someone who needs people to admire him and bow down to him. If he isn't getting that and is instead constantly being mocked for his insanity, then his brain starts to go into a tailspin. He is not cut out for politics.

(37,648 posts)That he would say that, and that he would believe that...and that he wouldn't understand that how difficult that would be, because it would take the poll workers NOT looking at their I.D.s...if even one had been asked for an ID and didn't have it, the poll workers would have noted the supposed name of the voter.
That was really bizarre...going to the car and putting on a disguise to vote again. Looney tune time.
