When most politicians use the word reform, theyre really talking about destroying something.
When Romney/Ryan (or Bush/Cheney) talk about reforming Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security, theyre talking about privatizing them which would result in their total destruction.
The result of prison reform has given us the biggest gulag in the world. And when Bill Clinton signed the Welfare Reform act, he condemned countless people to more misery than they were already suffering.
Politicians know that far too many millions of Americans are low-knowledge (read ignorant) voters who fall for the reform crap. Its why they can keep peddling it.
What really needs reform is the virtually total corruption of Americas political system.

Both should send up a huge red flag that they are going to rip you off.
We should all be aware that they are using nice-sounding phrases to mask the fact that they're screwing us.
