No wonder Tim Ryan's so angry....
Genuinely wild to compare the demographics of Democrats who flipped seats in the 2006 wave vs. the 2018 wave.
...in 2006
- 3% POC
- 13% Women
- 23% Under 45
- 83% White men
...in 2018
- 21% POC
- 68% Women
- 53% Under 45
- 24% White Men

(14,971 posts)an anti-Pelosi group, bad mouthing her on TV etc. Ryan's really big on how we're not appealing to angry white men who supported Trump.

(37,648 posts)People cite voter demographics all the time. You need to know who's voting for you. Why would anyone be angry?

(37,648 posts)He already knew the general demographics, like we all did, I would think. I'm not sure that's relevant. After all, Pelosi became speaker when a small minority of voters in mid-terms were female. The two things aren't really connected. It's who can do the job.

(14,971 posts)supporters. He might have a lot of them in his district. There are certainly a lot of them in Ohio but it's not where the party's going.
