Both W and Quayle went into National Guard. AND W didn't serve out his full term. He went AWOL the last several months after he was relocated to GA (?).

And Kerry got 'swiftboated' although he actually served. As did Gore; he was pulled out of dangerous post because his dad was an important congressman.

Seem to have a lot of those "chicken hawks" in their ranks. They are right there to push for "war", yet have a record of finding ways to get themselves out of ever having to go to war.

Gore took advantage of what we called "Early Outs" to leave Vietnam a couple of months early in order to attend Law School at Vanderbilt. Some 2 and 3 year guys got out 6 months early if they qualified for an Early Out.
