(42,862 posts)That's a very good question. This "protest" was a grandstanding and showboating mistake that really did nothing to improve her stature. In my opinion, she was receiving NO advice or BAD advice.

(42,862 posts)You know that Cenk Uygur is a rightwing-funded shill, right? His "Justice Democrats" group openly and proudly supports THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES.
It's a mistake for any loyal Democrat to be so cozily involved with a group that wants to "destroy and rebuild" the Democratic party.

(4,965 posts)And I remember reading a lot of "she has a lot of nerve doing then when she isn't even a Representative until January," so I'm sure those same people would have a problem with her asking if she did.

(46,166 posts)Now she can get on with settling into her job and representing her district with a head on her shoulders instead of up her ass.
I like AOC and want her to succeed. But even people I like can go sideways now and then - just like me. So today she learned a little about fact finding first before taking action. A good lesson.
I hope she comes to that realization quickly, as she is going to wear really thin with most Democrats. She needs to learn when to dial it down a notch. Being new to congress, she would be wise to back off, listen, and maybe take notes. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is a movie. In real life, change comes slowly with a lot of strategic effort and persistence, not with grand performances in front of the camera.
She has a lot of talent, but she needs a little more experience and knowledge to be an effective leader.
