Question re: latest American for Prosperity (Koch brothers-funded) ad

This is the ad with "everyday people" sadly reflecting on their disappointment with the President's record. Are these paid actors performing from a script? If so, we should get that information out there.

I'm in oklahoma where we're not getting to see a bunch of these ads because we're not in the running as we're solidly in the red state status so they pass us by to save money.

That is the basic message of the ad.

The response to the ad would show how Obama made it "worse". It would show a chart with jobs disappearing at 750,000 per month. It would show the stock market dipping to 6500. It would show Bush saying that the entire system was about to collapse.

Then, in contrast, it would show the job numbers for the last 2 or 3 years. It would show the present numbers on Wall Street. It would show a common person that is thankful their 401K has regained its value.

There are many ways to respond to this ad.

I know people who claimed to have voted for President Obama in '08 and feel disillusioned (and dare I say we see them trolling around these parts). It's inevitable as this administration has been under non-stop attack from the right wing and corporate media so that many of the memes that have been thrown out there over the past 3 years have stuck with some. Or there were those who were hoping for a pony that never arrived or just look at the surface and need/want someone to blame for the tough times we're going through. You can try to explain...but I've learned the longer it takes to spell something out to a low information voter the sooner you'll lose them. They aren't looking at the obstructionists in the House and Senate...they see $4 plus gas prices and blame Obama. Dare I say the inverse happened in '08 where people were tired of boooooosh and the rushpublicans and took it out on Gramps. Now this administration has a record...for better or worse...that can and is being portrayed counter to the facts as most of us know of but can resonate with those voters who only care about the world around them...
