Since we have the House wouldn't that trigger investigations and sworn testimony?
Is the potential legal jeopardy worth it for Whitaker?

(9,786 posts)It will come out because we have the power to do that now. Plus I do believe we will be totally surprised at the numerous investigations that will take place and what they uncover.

(11,885 posts)And oblivious to the penalties he'll face if he does anything for trump to obstruct this investigation in any way. He will be like the 2 Nixon AG's that thought they could get away with anything they did, and ended up behind bars, and he will too. i have no doubt he is probably in deep trouble for things he's already done we don't know about, yet. His career is over .

(18,641 posts)They see him as their great benefactor and if they take a bullet for him the great man will reward them in time.
They are blind to the reality that Trump protects no one. If you take a bullet for him he disavows knowing you and leaves you to die.
Just the fact that they worship him shows that they are oblivious to what's in front of their noses.

(13,877 posts)He flails between con man/woman after con man/woman. Without integrity, the truth will out. Since he has none, that's all he relates to...and that's all who relate to him...otherwise they will not work for/with him.

(1,262 posts)the House subcommittee (Judiciary?) that oversees the Justice Department should hold hearings and perform other actions in order to file a criminal complaint with the Justice Department to seek an indictment of Whitaker on obstruction of justice.

(81,635 posts)His plan worked. Mr. Whitaker returned to the Justice Department in October 2017, having once again earned the support of Mr. Trumps closest advisers inside the West Wing.
Colleagues described him as affable and said he quickly ingratiated himself with the staff in Mr. Sessionss office and those elsewhere in the building. But that reputation shifted over time as some people began to view him as the eyes and ears of the White House, current and former Justice Department officials said.
During a briefing this spring on a sensitive criminal case that took place with members of Mr. Sessionss staff, Mr. Whitaker sighed and rolled his eyes during the presentation, according to a person briefed on the episode. His behavior during the meeting quickly spread through the building and was considered by career prosecutors to be disrespectful. Some colleagues also began to regard him with caution.
He is smart and politically astute, said Gregory A. Brower, the former head of the F.B.I.s congressional affairs office. Hes certainly become well connected to the administration in a short time.

(2,407 posts)Maybe when things like documents and evidence were kept on paper and locked away in file drawers, somebody could bury reports, but since the invention of the thumb-drive....
It's all there. There are copies. And copies. Lots of people have had access, and that shit will LEAK. Or flood, actually. There may or may not be impeachment, but sooner or later, EVERYthing will come out.
What this country does...and what happens to us as a country... from that point on is up in the air.
