Hell, my signatures don't match from day to day let alone month to month. Lately I am getting a kick out of using my first two initials (quite distinctive) and using a fictional name in a scrawl to see if anyone is paying attention. So far signed forms as "DJNapoleon", "DJBullwinkle", "DJPuffinstuff", etc.
Shit, what are the Repukes going to do, call in expert handwriting people?

(15,749 posts)I was surprised at how many peoples' signatures were completely illegible when they signed to receive their ballots. They literally were jerky hand motion scribbles. Older voters tended to actually sign readable signatures.

(43,049 posts)I have never seen anyone's signature questioned. It's not even mentioned in the training sessions.

(25,586 posts)I know for a fact the signature I used when I registered bears no resemblance to the one I use now. Luckily it doesnt seem to have any significance as I vote in person and nobody pays the slightest attention to my signature.

(42,288 posts)We use an Electronic Poll Book, so they sign on a screen
Turn the screen back to face you and ensure there is a signature.
Touch Accept.
Note that we do NOT check if the sigs match, just that there is one. The picture ID is the identification, not the signature. Signatures vary from day to day and there are many medical conditions that can result in a change in dexterity. That said, most of the sigs are roughly similar and we were told this year to request they use their "legal signature" when signing in (and yes, a legal mark "X" can be accepted).
