The White House has done more to punish Jim Acosta for gently brushing aside an intern, than they've done to punish Saudi Arabia for torturing a journalist and chopping his body up into little pieces with a bone saw.Link to tweet

(7,142 posts)Someone needs to hold this man accountable. We knew that SA planned to kidnap the journalist and we never warned him. Democrats need to keep pushing this, doing nothing makes us accomplices.

(51,697 posts)She reached in between his arms while he was gesticulating and made contact with his arms. Sarah Sanders's video was sped up to make it look like Acosta dropped his arm down sharply to push her hand away, but he did not. He was just pointing at Trump then lowered his arm.
She reached in through his arms and grabbed the microphone. The microphone in Acosta's hand was an extension of his body, under the law. The fact that she side grabbed and reached in to Acosta's personal space makes her the assaulter and Acosta the assaulted.

I believe that Trump had some kind of "safe" word to indicate that he didn't want to answer questions from a particular reporter. It might have been the half whistle, or something else. He clearly gave the intern a signal to grab the mike from Acosta, and she jumped into action.

She literally sprung into action while Acosta was talking. Attempting to grab the microphone from a reporter's hand is unprecedented, even for this WH.
