Evidently Trump couldn’t find anyone he could rely on to deep six the Mueller investigation who hadn’t already publicly called it a witch hunt?

In my first or second year of teaching I had a principal that was as dumb as a rock (not all principals are - I ultimately became one!).
One day he walked into my room and saw a copy of a "Roget's Thesaurus" on my desk.
He pointed to it and asked, "What's a "Thes-is-er-us?" (yeah, that's kinda' how he said it).
I explained it to him and it was like teaching another one of my elementary students.
A month later was the staff/faculty Christmas party and on the table was a little book wrapped and labeled for the principal.
In it was one of those lovely "leather-bound" books with blank pages, you know, the kind people get for writing notes or using as a journal. On it was a label: "Principal's Thesaurus"

Am I right? Good story, but it's hard to believe that someone with a master's degree didn't know what a thesaurus was.

One of the brightest, if not the brightest, senators in congress. I'm still pissed off about the way he was treated.

Agree 100%.

I hope he decides to come back and run for the next open seat.

Of course, he has every right to never look back after the way he was treated. Who could blame him? Perhaps a draft Al movement would be a good way to kickstart him?

....to do a whitewash of the Trussia matter.

Franken changed that, Mueller was appointed, and as a result, Stone fell deeper and deeper into legal jeopardy.

I have no doubt Stone targeted Franken out of revenge.
