If you support the press, STOP SAYING THEY SHOULD NOT QUESTION THE PRESIDENT

Every time a reporter goes to work at the White House for the daily briefing, he/she lays down a marker for history that THE PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO QUESTION THEIR GOVERNMENT.

Every single time.

It's an exercise of liberty.

Especially if/when the particular administration abuses or intimidates reporters.

So stop saying the press corps should boycott briefings.

Recognize the deep meaning as the reporter stands up before a tyrant.

That reporter represents you, and me, and the BLOOD SACRIFICE of untold Americans who spilled blood in defense of our liberty.

And you want reporters to turn tail and cede our liberty to this authoritarian schmuck??!!

Never. Never. Never.

Stand with our press corps. Get some grit, people.

See the FB page "People's Bill Of Rights For White House Transparency".

Be a fucking thorn in their paw. A constant irritation. A constant reminder that this is our government, not a private business, & they are under scrutiny.

They represent the blood sacrifice of 242 years of American patriots standing up for the right of the people to question authority.

You get it!

Hooray!

Would be to show solidarity with each other and follow up one question that antagonizes Trump with a dozen more from a dozen other journalists.

One reporter will defer to another.

If you take a look at the twitter feed of the White House Correspondents Association today, there are many, many reporters chiming in in defense of Jim Acosta.

on patriotism

"Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public official save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country."

A free press is mandated to keep citizens/voters informed. To shut down the press is to shut down our lifeline. One of the first steps to a dictatorship is to stop the flow of information to the constituents.

Fight for a free and open press.

But in this case, "ignore him & he'll go away" won't work & it's dereliction of their duty to hold him accountable.

should ask the same question Acosta was booted for asking.

Over and over, each and every member of the press asks that question until he fucking answers it.
