Lots of energy and enthusiasm; it was so nice to see people swarm the House of Blues so early in the morning. As a few of us walked to our cars after the event, Beto drove by and honked at us as he passed by. On my way home (about two miles away), I did a double take when I noticed that the Dodge Caravan I'd seen him driving was pulled over just a few blocks from my house, in front of his mural. Guys - I was so flipping excited because I had been wanting to take a picture with that mural but never imagined that it would be WITH HIM. He's just the nicest guy. Being from El Paso myself, I made small talk and he was just the coolest, most down to earth person ever. I'm sure I sounded like a starstruck idiot but I don't care! I got my Beto picture! ☺️☺️☺️

A teachable moment for Ted Cruz - who sure does need one, if anyone does.

(30,761 posts)I am in a red district in Illinois, too. We have little chance of flipping it, but we have a viable candidate this time, and we will make them fight for every vote, make them spend their obscene war chest.
Go, Sara Dady!

(24,041 posts)...it is worth, the polling is looking favorable. IL 6.
I worked for one of his primary opponents, and am not ecstatic about him, but I want Peter Roskam OUT!

(30,761 posts)We just have to vote for them.
I am glad that Obama and other people have been pointing out the sacrifices made by our military, by African Americans and by women so that we can have the right to vote. It should never be thrown away.
Did you by any chance see Madame Secretary on Sunday? There was a great scene at the end. Her daughter decides not to vote because her candidate was not pure enough. Her mother sets her straight.

(63,922 posts)I was listening to Randi Rhodes and she said don't vote straight Democratic do it individually cause the machines they use switch the votes from Beto to Cruz, and if you vote straight Republican there will be no vote for Cruz.

(54,436 posts)It took me 20 minutes to fully darken out every little oval next to the name of the Democratic candidate, but I did it. No ambiguity unless they dishonor the whole ballot. Possible, but not likely in Dallas county.

(1,822 posts)I landed in Houston today. I am here for work & yes I voted with an absentee ballot.
I arranged for car to snag me at the airport.
My driver looked like me, so once we got on our way, I asked about the energy down here.
He said that he never voted in a mid-term EVER, just for President.
For what its worth he is going to spend all day tomorrow transporting first time mid-term voters.
He thinks the pollsters are underestimating people like him and his family.
He said people love Beto & are terrified of the mad man.

(102 posts)Is it OK to do that?
Honeycombe8
(37,648 posts)How you do that is you put it on a cloud-based public service on the internet. I used to use photobucket.com, but that isn't free, anymore. There are others, but I don't know what they are.
Once you put it on the internet, then that service provides a link for you to put it in a post.
If you're not already set up for pics in a public service on the internet, it's probably too much trouble for you.
