it is highly unlikely that the soldiers will even carry live ammunition. Even in the event that they have loaded weapons it is beyond reason that an American soldier would open fire on a crowd of women and children, not to mention men who might have a rock in their hands. They don’t do it anywhere else in the world.

Trump’s order that they do so is another brick in the real wall he is building, that he is immoral, a monstererous asshole. To demand that our soldiers take the lives of children and other defenseless humans is beyond the pale.

Likely an illegal order anyway, it sets up a conflict between the military and the civilian construct. The command structure will have to spend time figuring out how to defy this illegal order without incurring the wrath of the whitehouse boob.

Any unnecessary death of the so called Caravan marchers at the hands of our military will make trump complicit in murder. I guess that’s just another day at the White House for you.

Imagine, a draft dodger ordering American soldiers to open fire on women and children. Trump’s own personal Mai Lai massacre. Perhaps he should just call in a preemptive air strike and be done with it. That would show what a tough guy warrior he is.

National Guard opened up and shot students throwing rocks at Kent State with live ammunition and killed not only rock throwers but also some students who were far away & not part of the protest at all. I would not bet one penny that the soldiers on that line will not shoot to kill innocent brown women and children because they are being ordered to do that. I'd like to think they'd rebel, but they certainly didn't at Kent State and the environment is far more toxic now.

Kent state was committed by frightened, untrained, inexperienced mainly college aged Guardsmen.

The soldiers on the boarder will be composed of experienced professional soldiers, commanded by professional officers who know rules of engagement and that they are being used as political props and will pissed at being there. They have practice at restraining themselves in Afghanistan where they are taunted daily and where their life actually is at risk. And many of them will be of Mexican heritage.

Even if Trump gave them an explicit order to fire they would not.

Chances are after the election you will hear no more about it.
