So, did the Cubans also "invade" America?

A valid question, not just in Miami.

So, did the Cubans also "invade" America?

About 1.4 million Cubans fled Fidel Castro to find freedom and opportunity in America. Many of them came illegally. So, why was that not also an "invasion" of America? We welcomed them with "open arms and open hearts." How quickly they forgot all that was done for them as they flock to hear their hero, Donald Trump, tell them that he will authorize American troops to fire on women and children in the "caravan." Instead of understanding the plight of immigrants, Cuban Americans are among the loudest voices supporting Trump in his anti-immigrant rants. What happened to your hearts Cubans? Now that you are here enjoying the fruits of America, you support a president who is committed to keeping other immigrants out even if he has to use 15,000 armed soldiers to do it. Shame on every Cuban American who votes for Trump.

The first Irish American to become a Republican senator was John Danaher from Connecticut in 1938.

As the story goes, an Irish Catholic woman breathlessly told her friend, “have you heard the news? John Danaher has become a Republican!”

The friend replied: “it can’t be true. I saw him at mass just last Sunday.”

Yet now the Trump White House is chockablock with Irish names – including Vice President Mike Pence, whose grandfather immigrated from Ireland in 1923 to Chicago and became a bus driver. The grandfather was a Democrat and Pence’s parents and five siblings idolized John Kennedy. But Pence had a religious experience in college and became an evangelical Christian and a Republican....

That’s why I applaud Ana Navarro. Her family may have fled communism is South America but she’s standing up to the right wingers in this country.

But it is worst when the French Canadians invade in the winter.
