A Mid Term Election question from New Zealand

Im not an American, Ive been on this board for years.

It seems to me, that most people are saying the Democrats will win the House,
but the Republicans will win the senate.

My question is, if the Democrats do take the House, but not the senate, this will
still be brilliant for the Democrats and bad for Trump, am i right in thinking this??

Democrats have a terrible map for the Senate.

If we take the house we control the house committees which gives us subpoena power.

The Democrats’ Quest to Win the Senate
They must hold 10 seats in Trump country and over perform in contested states. But with a blue wave forecast, anything could happen.

--Legislation has to pass both chambers, so a powerful Dem house could block any GOP legislation.
--The Speaker of the House (who would be a Dem) controls much of the agenda
--Worst thing for Trump: The House would do real investigations with subpoena power and could impeach (although the Senate would then have to convict

Lots of other reasons, both it would/will make a huge difference

On everything.

The senate confirms judges.

An overwhelming democratic pickup in house seats will send message to all the republican senators up for reelection in 2020....be fearful how close you are to trump.

"Most people thought we could never keep the Senate, but we did. Everyone knew we would lose the house, but if you look at it, we actually did very well when you consider we had the Fake News media against us and the Democrat lies. Compare us to other midterm elections where the ruling party loses both houses. We actually did tremendously well. We actually gained a Senator, and I don't know if that has ever been done before. We have many tremendous people and we need that to fight the obstructionism of the Democrats. Believe me. It is going to be obstruct, obstruct, obstruct."

If the democrats take the house they can chair the House Intelligence Committee and can pursue genuine oversight investigations of Trump and his gang. The outcomes of those investigations will erode support for Trjmp even if we don’t have the votes to impeach him.

And confirmation of trumps cabinet. So, rather have the Senate but if House we will have the ultimate, most effective leader—Nancy Pelosi. She was the unsung hero of Obama’s early years and got many items passed the house.

Also, pay attention to governorships. Very important this cycle. The US does the census in 2020 and the redistricting state and congressional maps. Republicans controlled most of the states during 2010. Democrats could control more the next cycle and that would mean Dems could pick up many more seats. Right now, Repubs have many more House seats and State legislature seats because of this.

...is 2nd in line to the presidency, so if we couldget rid of Trump and Pence, the Dem speaker would succeed to the presidency.

A consummation devoutly to be wished.

walking the streets, please feel free to push him in front of a bus.

We apologize for sending you one of the dumbest perves in the republican flock, but that's the best Trump could do. He will be replaced in 2020. Until then, protect your wives and daughters from this moron.
