Republican Bill Schuette’s gubernatorial campaign is canceling planned TV ads across Michigan in the final week of the race, except in the Detroit market.

9. Why would he pull all of them except those in the Detroit market?

I'm not usually one to jump to conspiracies, but after the last election where there were apparently thousands of voters in Detroit that left the presidential vote blank, this makes me worry that they are cooking the books again and then when Detroit doesn't come through as strongly and the Democrat loses, he can just claim it was because he focused so much on that area.

Please tell me I am wrong and there's a plausible reason for it, like they have passed the "must cancel by" date for such a large market.
