there's a huge difference in the attitudes that "both sides" have for each other.
the right-wing's "hatred" for the left-wing means this:
the right-wing thinks people like obama aren't legitimate americans.
the right-wing thinks black people shouldn't complain about getting shot by the police in innocuous, non-dangerous situation.
the right-wing even thinks people born on u.s. soil aren't citizens, and should be deported, if their parents aren't citizens.
the right-wing thinks the press is the enemy of the people
the right-wing thinks democrats and liberals are the enemy of the people.
the right-wing enjoys talking about violence against the left and refuses to criticize violence against the left
meanwhile, the left-wing's "hatred" for the right-wing means this:
the left-wing thinks the right-wing should be voted out of office. the left-wing feels very, very strongly about this.
the left-wing thinks the right-wing should have affordable healthcare.
the left-wing thinks the right-wing should be entitled to express their views in peace, and wants only that the left-wing can similarly express its view as well in response.
the left-wing thinks the right-wing should have affordable healthcare.
"both sides do it"?
ok, sure, except "it" means one thing to the left and quite another thing to the right.
