Dinesh D'Souza celebrates that he can vote despite felony because Trump pardoned him

Conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza celebrated President Trump on Tuesday, remarking that his right to vote had been restored due to the president granting him a pardon for his felony conviction for illegal campaign contributions.

D'Souza mentioned both Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R), who was reportedly involved in securing D'Souza's pardon, in a brief message touting his newly-restored rights.

"Felons can’t vote. But pardoned ones can @realDonaldTrump @tedcruz," D'Souza wrote.

D'Souza, who plead guilty in 2014 to illegally using straw donors to support Republican Senate candidate Wendy Long, was pardoned by the president in May after Trump wrote that the conservative commentator had been treated "unfairly" by the Obama administration.
