While he didn't mention him by name, Romney made reference to a Vice President Joe Biden's attack on his fiscal policies in Virginia speech Tuesday when he said Romney would "put you back in chains" if elected.
"His campaign and his surrogates have made wild and reckless accusations that disgrace the office of the presidency," Romney said. "Another outrageous charge just came a few hours ago in Virginia. And the White House sinks a little bit lower. This is what an angry and desperate presidency looks like. President Obama knows better, promised better and America deserves better."
Romney accused Obama of pushing Republicans and Democrats "as far apart as they can go" and he accused Obama of waging an even more divisive campaign by "dividing us all in groups."
"He demonizes some. He panders to others. His campaign strategy is to smash America apart and then cobble together 51 percent of the pieces. If an American president wins that way, we all lose," Romney said. "So, Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago, and let us get about rebuilding and reuniting America."
Asked for a response, Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt called Romney's claims hypocritical. "Gov. Romney's comments tonight seemed unhinged, and particularly strange coming at a time when he's pouring tens of millions of dollars into negative ads that are demonstrably false," LaBolt said.

(19,458 posts)Not once has either candidate attacked Romney or Ryan personally. Not once. They attack his policies, his refusal to release information.
Romney is now completely attacking the President personally. He's a thin-skinned rageaholic.
I NOW understand why the President dislikes Romney so much. He is a total asshole. I mean that not just in the 'oh he's running against the President," I mean that he is an absolute and complete asshole, with ZERO morals or scruples. He will do or say anything to get in power. His opponents know that... Romney has NO friends, no people that stick up for him, that are not paid to do that.
All he's doing is what Palin did, and it did NOT go well for her. Palin did this same scary angry shit, and McCain ended up having to deal with crazy people making threats and horrible comments that McCain had to deflect, on behalf of the President.

(19,458 posts)Romney's biggest issue is that people just don't like him. The republicans may vote for him because he's not President Obama, or some rich folks or wannabes might vote for him because they think they'll get something from him. But.. Romney is not winning over the swing voters, the young voters, and the Obama Republicans.
His angry histrionics are like the dumbest thing he can do. People don't like you, Romney. So why not become a screaming harpie, who seems to be so rage-filled that you can't even see straight. Is that going to make people like you? No.. you can get people to hate the President more, the ones that already hated him the minute he took office. But you need people to LIKE you, too. And this is NOT the way to do it.
But hey Romney, feel free to keep acting like the angriest man in the world, and keep your sycophants entertained, but don't expect anyone else to vote for you.. or like you.

(39,321 posts)I was trying to figure out where and when this kind of hypocrisy can be used to destroy them. I do not really, truly understand the pass the media gives them. I think it's partly because one must be confrontational to deal with a hypocrite.
They are bullies. On some primal level they hold power with that. A bully is above the truth, but the true ART form they have developed, yes that is something so bizarre, so ultimately psychotic in it's essence, how could SO many people go along!?
We weren't like this as a country before. It's something that hasn't been fully understood or explained. And, we shouldn't assume right will win out, even when it's looking good for November.. they could do unimaginable things (again) with that mindset.
What kind of zen is needed to defeat them? I think we're lucky to have Obama. And now he's got a chance to destroy them. Maybe.
