Flying over the Holidays?
Wanna make a friend of your flight attendant? Pay attention while he or she does the safety briefing before departure. Nobody does that, and they notice.
I'm always in a window seat in an exit row. On every flight, I take out the exit row card and look at it again. More than once, a flight attendant has noticed that. One came over, smiled, and said, "You're the first passenger I've seen actually look at that in a month. Thanks!" My gin and tonic (just one) somehow was free.
The flight attendants actually do look at passengers. They can size you up in a couple of seconds. If you spot one looking at you, give him or her a friendly smile and say thanks when you get handed something.

It was mostly empty. One of the flight attendants walked by, and I noticed the perfume she was wearing. I liked it and thought I'd buy some for my wife. The next time the flight attendant passed by, I asked her what scent she was wearing. She gave me a big, bright smile and told me its name. I think she thought I was flirting with her. I told her I liked the scent and wanted to get some for my wife. She kept smiling, but her eyes told me I had ruined the moment. 
By the way, it was Giorgio's Red. My wife loved it, and still wears it from time to time.
