Trump MUST go to Pittsburgh, if for no other reason than he was asked not to come

Will he discuss his 2016 election night victory, and the crowd size at his inauguration?

Will he discuss the "enemy of the people," the "fake media?"

Will he lob rolls of paper towels at the mourners?

Will he discuss the need to "build the wall?"

What type of passive-aggressive fashion statement will Melania make? Will she also be allowed to speak, and will she encourage the people of Pittsburgh to Be Best in this time of tragedy?

In 2016, Trump received 48.2% of the Pennsylvania vote to Hillary's 47.5...a landslide in his eyes, I'm sure. Can't you hear him proclaim "On election night in 2016, the great state of Pennsylvania voted Trump in the single greatest election victory in the history of the United States!"

Make no mistake, he's been asked to stay home, and during his nine hours of TV ( "executive" ) time daily, he sees and hears the point driven home again and again and again.

But he MUST go.

Because no one tells him he's not wanted, and hey...the midterms are a little more than a week away, and maybe he'll pick up some votes. Fox & Friends will swoon over the footage. And somewhere in the crowd, a conservative pundit will say "Today, Donald Trump became President," even though he's had the job for two frigging years.

As someone pointed out yesterday, republicans have totally trashed the core American concept of "We the people," in favor of their twisted, kult-kink koncept of "Me the victimy republican tyrant."

. . . the rabbi who was leading services when the shooting took place is saying otherwise:

Pittsburgh Synagogue Rabbi: Donald Trump 'Certainly Welcome' Following Tree of Life Shooting

Following the deaths of 11 people at the Tree of Life Synagogue on Saturday in Pittsburgh, a group of religious leaders wrote an open letter to President Donald Trump saying he wasn’t welcome in their city. While the letter was supported by the former president of the synagogue, the rabbi who was leading Shabat services as gunfire rang out had a different take on the president’s potential visit.

Rabbi Jeffrey Myers told CNN that he didn't blame any specific group of people for the shooting, because hate “does not know religion, race, creed, political party.”

Trump expressed the possibility that he would visit the Tree of Life Synagogue in the coming days. While some rejected the president’s visit, Myers welcomed him to the city.

“The president of the United States is always welcome,” he said. “I’m a citizen, he’s my president. He is certainly welcome.”

I found this to be a very disturbing statement and I seriously wonder if the "good Rabbi" asked the victims' families and the survivors whether they wanted Trump to intrude at this terrible time. That should have been the first thing he did before he talked to CNN. Trump has never bothered to give aid and comfort before except to offer "thoughts and prayers" which is meaningless because he does not think and he certainly does not pray. It is clear he is just using their grief to advance himself.

the mayor is a Democrat.

Will Melania wear her special coat?

Are they going to Squirrel Hill? It's not that easy for a president to get there from the airport is it? Will Trump's visit disrupt the funerals?

Trump to visit Pittsburgh Tuesday, Peduto says he won't appear with him

(snips)
President Donald Trump will visit Western Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon “to express the support of the American people and to grieve with the Pittsburgh community,” three days after a gunman killed 11 people at a Squirrel Hill synagogue, the White House said Monday. Officials wouldn’t detail Mr. Trump’s itinerary — the administration said late Monday that it remained in the works. First Lady Melania Trump is scheduled to join him.

The announcement came less than an hour after Mayor Bill Peduto urged against a presidential visit “while we are burying the dead.” At least two funerals for shooting victims are to be held Tuesday.

“All attention [Tuesday] should be on the victims,” Mr. Peduto told reporters Downtown. “We do not have enough public safety officials to provide enough protection at the funerals and to be able, at the same time, [to] draw attention away to a potential presidential visit.”

Two issues I have with the White House statement:
* The American people have no collective desire for Trump to express our support, and
* DJ Trump has zero emotions and therefore cannot express grief for anyone.

He can read prepared statements, then go "rogue" and off script.

You'd think that after the Barbara Bush and John McCain funerals, he'd get the message. Most people would, but most people aren't Trump.

Trump’s propaganda lead directly to this attack. And now he’s showing up to disrespect the dead by making this all about him. I’m sure he’s going to claim that he’s the real victim here and the media is to blame.

Fuck him. If this were someone in my family I’d make him sorry he showed his Orange face. I’d scream at him in public that he killed my loved one. I hope someone does that.

We our under a threat of an invasion from the caravan. Just like Hitler said that
Poland invaded Germany to start WW II.

International Jews such as George Soros are funding the caravan. And that caravan
has diseases, middle eastern people, and they are coming here to vote in the elections.

He wants a bunch of protesters, the more unruly the better. He may even have paid protesters or James O'Keefe involved in his visit. What a perfect opportunity for Trump to affirm that Democrats are the real mobsters, are the real terrorists.
Trump can't lose by going to Pittsburgh as long as he reads the teleprompter.

Might be interpreted as an admission that Trump's own words and acts contributed to this massacre. As we all know, Trump is incapable of admitting that he is at fault in any way if something goes wrong. His fragile ego won't allow it. Anyway, whatever happens, it must be all about him. So he's going.

It's at least 25 miles from the airport to Squirrel Hill, if not longer. Pittsburgh streets aren't really that easy to navigate. Staying at the airport and giving a speech is pretty dumb isn't it? I guess if the rabbi of the synagogue shows up at the airport it will give Trump his photo op.

He will continue his assault on dignity and reason by any means. He thinks it's momentum for him and his sycophantic republican enablers.

26. Trump seems to have something called "defiance disorder"

From January, 2018: https://theweek.com/speedreads/750063/people-white-house-say-trump-defiance-disorder-new-book-claims

President Trump's need to disagree with his advisers may be borderline pathological.

Some aides have gone so far as to diagnose the president with "defiance disorder," The Washington Post reports, citing revelations from a forthcoming book written by the former Fox News host and Post reporter Howard Kurtz. Kurtz's book, Media Madness: Donald Trump, The Press, And The War Over The Truth, explains that some of the president's top staffers "privately coined" the term for Trump's "seeming compulsion to do whatever it is his advisers are most strongly urging against," the Post reports.

The New York Times' Maggie Haberman pointed out on Twitter that "defiance disorder" is in fact a valid malady, listed in formal psychiatry diagnostic texts, and not just a catchphrase for people in the White House to describe their boss' quirks. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry says that ODD is marked by "defiance, spitefulness, negativity, hostility, and verbal aggression," while the Mayo Clinic recommends managing ODD by giving "unconditional love" and "recognizing and praising ... good behaviors."

In other words, he does the wrong thing BECAUSE it's wrong.
