Don't know if this violates any election laws but I bet the Romney camp is getting great deals on airtime over at FOX news. I wouldn't put it past Murdoch and Ailes to wave the fees for a fellow creep. Although I'm not sure if they make more money as a defend Mitt channel, or a hate Obama channel.

(40,416 posts)According to FEC regulations as I last knew them in the 90's as party treasurer, it is reportable as a donation and must be within FEC requirements as any other contribution.
Under Citizen's United, I have no knowledge as I haven't done campaign finance for some number of years. The regulations change and I have not kept up. Maybe somebody can fill in details for current regulations.
If they haven't changed, such a thing which you suggest would likely exceed maximum donation levels and would be illegal, even as an in-kind donation.
I hope I've helped. Anybody else know better?
