CHILLICOTHE, OHIO - Closing out his four-day bus tour, Mitt Romney stood on the steps of the courthouse here and ripped apart President Obama's campaign strategy as one of the "diversions" that have taken the nation's highest office to a "new low" that appears "angry and desperate."
"You don't hear any answers coming from President Obama's re-election campaign," said Romney, speaking at his third and final event in Ohio, the last stop on his bus tour that weaved in and out of four battleground states, dramatically opening with the announcement of his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan.
"That's because he's intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy," said Romney of Obama in what was one of his most strongly worded speeches to date. "And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others. It's an old game in politics; what's different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low."
The Obama campaign shot back at Romney's speech, saying that the presumptive GOP nominee seemed "unhinged."

(52,317 posts)ok, the charge is that obama is "angry".
on the one hand, obama is widely seen as mr. cool, mr. calm., mr. collected. throughout a long and tough primary fight, election campaign, four years suffering all manner of slings and arrows, he hasn't lost his temper once, at least not publicly.
on the other hand, he is black.
so, it is racist to call him "angry"?

(1,374 posts)He's getting too much blowback for such a dumb pick as VP so he's lashing out.
He may also may be getting personally upset due to Ryan getting so much more attention than him so he's trying to get the focus back on him. Saying over the top shit is the only way he knows how to do that and it may work because that's what the media loves.
I expect it to be 'no holds barred' from here on out.

(19,458 posts)He is PISSED that it's not going his way, and there is a BIg reason why the President does not like Romney personally. He's a total asshole. He doesn't realize that it does not make swing voters look badly at the President, it makes Romney look desperate and angry.

Pooooor baby.
I think you're right. This crap is gonna backfire on him big time. People hate whiners - especially when they're running for president. I mean come on...what did he expect?

Nothing like screaming and attacking someone, then saying that THEY are angry. God.. been married to a few of those projectionists.

hahahha. not going to work.
romney's best chance was to convince voters that he would improve the economy and specifically the job situation . they will never love him but convince them that he would do well in that area.
but his refusing to show his tax returns and discuss bain has hurt that.
