debate over several years --decades now ---over whether or not these should be destroyed.

I do not think there has been a resolution.

Some think Russia not well guarded and they may weaponize the virus. Probably extreme position but IMHO anything could happen--sad to say. Would be horrible as in the USA, I do not think we have been immunized for years now ?? mid seventies?

after the disease was eradicated here. The vaccine was still required if you were traveling to areas where it was still active.

Not sure when it was safe to stop ever using it.
