Back in the days when the Third Reich was ascendant, it was the globalist Jewish menace who was scapegoated as being responsible for all of Germanys ills (being Jewish then was twisted into being communist (Bolshevik), and thus an enemy of the state.
Read what was said about Jews (and liberals, democratic socialists, intellectuals, etc.) in 1930s Germany. Compare that with what one hears at a Trump rally about refugees, or a menacing caravan of Hondurans, but (with no proof) possible Middle Easterners; or the ongoing bullying and stoking of animosity toward past political opponents who are now private citizens.
Its the same today, only the poison has now spread to America.
The underlying claim of antisemites and Nazis is that Jewish people somehow control all world activities and control the most powerful countries in the world as well as many world economies. It is a false charge, but haters use it to justify their blind hatred.

(31,261 posts)Read my earlier post on how antisemites claim that Jewish people underhandedly rule the world. That is a myth built and added to over many centuries. It is a vile lie, but antisemites use it anyway.

(58,724 posts)I agree that it is insane that this mentality is still pervasive among so many antisemites.

Challenge anyone that makes that claim face to face and explain that it is a lie. Don't remain silent for family or friendship peace.

(16,829 posts)or being Christ killers...
Looked it up, there are varieties of anti-semitism:
- political and economic antisemitism, giving as examples Cicero[61] and Charles Lindbergh;[62]
- theological or religious antisemitism, sometimes known as anti-Judaism;[63]
- nationalistic antisemitism, citing Voltaire and other Enlightenment thinkers, who attacked Jews for supposedly having certain characteristics, such as greed and arrogance, and for observing customs such as kashrut and Shabbat;[64]
and - racial antisemitism, with its extreme form resulting in the Holocaust by the Nazis.[65]
Louis Harap separates "economic antisemitism" and merges "political" and "nationalistic" antisemitism into "ideological antisemitism". Harap also adds a category of "social antisemitism".[66]
- religious (Jew as Christ-killer),
- economic (Jew as banker, usurer, money-obsessed),
- social (Jew as social inferior, "pushy," vulgar, therefore excluded from personal contact),
- racist (Jews as an inferior race),
- ideological (Jews regarded as subversive or revolutionary),
- cultural (Jews regarded as undermining the moral and structural fiber of civilization).

None of it is based on fact - Jews have been made into scapegoats.

(58,724 posts)I just hadn't heard it identified that way before, using that specific terminology.

(6,011 posts)I know many Jews. None of them control anything but their own lives.
Well, there was that guy who coached one of my Little League baseball teams.
He was a Jew. He controlled a Little League baseball team.
I had no idea that I was a pawn in the implementation of a "globalist takeover"...
