Lara Trump: President won't bear responsibility for GOP losses

BY REID WILSON - 10/27/18 01:32 PM EDT

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lara Trump, President Trump's daughter-in-law and senior adviser to his 2020 reelection campaign, says the president will not bear responsibility for GOP losses in this year's midterm elections.

Lara Trump told The Hill that the president wishes he were on the campaign trail more often. But she said that Republicans have a hard time capitalizing on Trump’s popularity with his core voters, and some of those voters might not show up to vote.

“It’s hard to translate excitement for one candidate to another,” Lara Trump said in an interview Thursday. “I don’t think it’s a referendum on the president directly if Republicans do not hold their seat or they lose a seat.”

Asked whether Trump would take responsibility for Republican losses — as former President George W. Bush did following the 2006 elections and as former President Obama did after the 2010 elections, Lara Trump said no.

“Why would he bear responsibility?” she asked. “These candidates are individual people. It’s hard to say just because you voted for the president, go vote for this person.”

Yeah, I'll bet Trump wishes he were on the campaign trail more often. More fun than doing his job, that's for sure.

He is (allegedly) a Republican, and he is (tragically) sitting in the highest elected office in the nation...

Is Mrs. Trump saying her father-in-law is NOT the leader of the Republican Party? If not, then who is?

Interesting...

If he loses the House and the Senate, he'll resign immediately and call it some sort of bogus "victory." Then Lara and the entire Trump family will all be out of jobs.

If he loses just the House and not the Senate, he probably won't resign. He'll dig in his heels and make us impeach him. Which we will do. It will mean another 2 years wasted.

It turns my stomach to see Air Force One parked directly behind the stage podium like he did at the hanger speeches and the trDump jet during the primary season.

Like Mr. Big shot,.. he jets in for his important Nazi speech then jets off to his next Fascist-fest confab. Do they keep the jet engines running on low RPMs during the entire rally to give it the air of added importance and urgency ?

WHY? This upcoming election is an opportunity for voters to express their opinions about Republicans and Trump. Everyone knows that, so she is setting up the show and telling us what it will be about..

Of republicans will be felt for a decade or more as 2020 and 2022 we could steamroll
To massive majorities that can overcome filibusters and have required levels to impeach sitting federal judges at will, including Supreme Court ones.

We can invalidate the 2016 election be removing every single judge appointed and passing 2 or 3 new constitutional admendments if democrats also control 35 state houses too. Lasting sweeping reform that would never be undone as republicans will never have that level of power ever,
