They are interviewing MAGAbomber's former employer - she said he was a very good, reliable employee (he was a driver for her business) but personally weird as shit - and he told her he was a white supremacist and that she'd burn in hell along with the blacks and the Jews because she's a lesbian, and she wouldn't let him drive his van for work during the day because of the stickers, and inside the van were dolls with their heads cut off and nooses and swastikas.

(13,776 posts)I like to think of myself as easy to get along with, but I'd take exception to an employee telling me I would burn in hell... especially if he's got dolls with heads cut off, swastikas, and nooses in his van.

(17,931 posts)Publicly stating at work they are a white supremacist and Jews, African Americans, LGBTQ, [fill in the blank] are going to burn in hell, is well outside the realm of anything reasonable. Lets just say that doesn't contribute much towards a professional, supportive and inclusive work environment and probably scares the shit out of co-workers. More than enough reason to be shown the door.
Spend as much time as you like blaming the magabomber's employer, because you know, she's the real villain here, not the guy who made and posted the bombs.

(8,133 posts)your corporation and YOU can be sued if they do harm while they are "on the clock." They are representing you and your company. You are basically responsible for their actions when they are working for you. They can still cause you a huge PR problem when they are off the clock.

(32,645 posts)Not sure but the lady who tweeted the photo that her husband took, said this guy made the delivery. The van was so weird that her husband took a photo, and remembered it a year later when it was shown on CNN today. Then he recalled the guy and said, "Oh yeah, that's the guy!"
More info and photo on this post from earlier today.

(51,609 posts)She said he hated Rachel Maddow too. Earlier when CNN was showing his twitter/Facebook posts and I thought I saw Rachel's face on one of them. Now I am fairly certain it was her picture after hearing his employer speak.
I would NEVER have been in a van alone with a guy who often said that I was a mistake and he would like to put me on an island to be burned up.

(129,096 posts)She seemed to be a toughie herself. This guy was wacked.
But the analysis going on right now is good in terms of them basically saying that this whole thing with embracing the campaign and white supremacy has filled an obvious void in his life and gave him a reason to get up every day.

(33 posts)An African-American tries to use a pool @ their own complex, or enter their own complex,
and some "Eagle-Eye" calls the cops....
This freak oozed "I'm a danger to the public", and it was "all good"!
Someone here on DU even saw the van and took pics, they thought it was SO weird!
Where were the 50 scared and outraged calls to the law?
Why didn't his tolerant boss say that this guy was over the edge?
This guy was posting all over social media that he was going to lose it..... Nothing!
So, If you're of color and look sideways, instant cop call... You are a REAL threat.. It's all good.
SMH!
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,734 posts)is protected speech even though it's offensive and scary. If you call the police you'd be told they can't do anything unless he commits a crime. Being weird isn't illegal. Having extreme political views isn't illegal. If he'd threatened someone that would be different, but apparently he didn't, at least not recently. The tolerant boss thought he was weird as shit but she kept him on because he did a good job, showed up on time, didn't steal, and she didn't get complaints from customers (she didn't let him drive for her during the day). People can't be arrested just because they're so weird that they might do something.
MrQRO
(33 posts)My point is that just being a person of color in anyplace....
Seems to warrant a call to the cops.....
This guy was a walking, talking, moving, billboard for issues, and... silence!
I understand that there is no probable cause, no law against being weird, etc., etc.,
My Point is that a person of color gets a call for just going about their daily business, and this guy
was a poster boy for "something's up"... and nothing!
Just trying to point out the double standard...
I suppose the subtlety of the issue is lost here somehow.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,734 posts)before he got into bomb-making. I agree 100% that this country is seriously messed up when people of color can't go to a swimming pool or a picnic in a park or get access to their own apartment without some racist busybody calling the cops while an obvious nutball like Cesar Sayoc is pretty much ignored. You'll get no argument from me.
