MAGAbomber vs. "Suspect"

On FB, there have been a number of posts from my friends chiding those of us using the term "MAGAbomber," instead of "suspect." I get where these people are coming from, but my initial response is, "Eff that." They've been going low for a decade or more. I'm not going high on this. I'm not going to let them dilute the narrative with calls for civility or rule of law or whatever.

That said, these people are my friends, and they're good progressives. Any suggestions?

bend over backwards to make the RW happy. It is equally true that he is a "charged defendant" as it is that he is a "suspect" and I think both the use of terms "charged" and "indicted" better reflect the situation.

I gotta say shoe on other foot Repugs would make sure we own every single sticker. They would be out now making it the mother of all wedge issues up until the election.

We got them off balance, leaders need to push all of them as complicit for not coming out to condemn two years of rhetoric.

I am here in Sacramento and the bomb found is surrounded by residential homes, media talked with neighbors and they are freaked out, common concern what if it went off or mailed to the wrong address.

Dems need to come out final weeks before the election and make it pretty clear if you want more of the same vote Repug. Dotard is not going to tone it down. The reality, these are the type of people that will never jump to another party so I say go for the knockout politicize the hell out of it. They would!

Going low can turn people off, especially people who may be on the fence and disgusted with the toxicity of politics. It doesnt matter who does it more or who is "right." Truth can be relative and I would rather take the high road. Amusement from the low road is fleeting.

A totally unscientific analysis of my FB feed shows that those upset about failing to use "alleged" or "suspected" in their posts about the MAGAbomber are 100% white CIS men. Those who have no problem with not prefacing "MAGAbomber" with these words—or "liking" posts railing against demands that "alleged" and "suspected" be included—are all female, persons of color, or LGBTQ individuals.

So maybe those of more likely to be targeted for violence by Trump-triggered individuals have more of a problem with the violent perpetrators of such, rather than worrying about ensuring that our FB friends know that the person who wants us all dead has not been convicted in a court of law?
