I was very torn about how I felt. Obviously, there is the very upbeat part where that great young man did what he did. But I also wondered about what would happen when that gas was gone....or the tiny bit of food she could reallocate that money for was eaten.

I don't always give money to people who are "begging" for it, but I do it pretty often, and even more so if they are at least trying to do something to earn it. Busking, or even squeegee....which the local police seem to have completely curtailed now.

One of the buskers has become a friend of mine. Great guy. Had to quit playing fingerstyle guitar and learn to play slide, because of Marfan's syndrome. You just never know how big or what shape someone else's pile of rocks might be.

...when I lost my wife and half of my (our) income the thing I mostly felt was being lost. I truly didn't know what t do. Getting the finances figured out and seeing how much I was suddenly in debt was a weight that I hadn't felt before. The first few weeks for a widow or widower are very traumatic. Good on these guys and this story truly gives hope that there are more caring humans out there that don't get recorded when they do good.

....”We’ve got to take care of each other”. That’s it in a nutshell.
That’s what’s wrong with us today, we’ve forgotten that this country
was founded on the idea that we govern ourselves to take care of each
other.

My mother used to carry a bunch of one-dollar bills when she took the subway to work. When she saw someone sleeping on the platform, she press a couple of bucks in his/her hand. One time a cop yelled at her for doing it for a woman, saying "Hey, why are you doing that?" She answered, "she's probably someone's mother". He thought, and then actually apologized!

My parents also kept a few old winter coats in the trunk of their car to give to homeless people who didn't have heavy clothing.

I go to the same Dunkin Donuts every day and often see a young woman in there from a local group home.

This DD is inside a convenience store.

She was digging in her purse to find enough money for a pack of no-name cigarettes----cost about $7.00 here in MA. I told the clerk that I would pay for them, the young lady thanked me,and left.

Another customer told me that I should be ashamed of myself, encouraging smoking.

I just laughed,and left.

A guy handed the clerk some change for a pack of cigarettes, he didn't have enough evidently because she handed him his change back and he went out the door. I paid for them and my husband took them out to him while I paid for our other stuff. She gave me a strange look but didn't say anything.

Trump lies about the character of young men like this.

The hatred that is gripping the country is coming directly from Donald J. Trump.

the pump opposite mine. He was driving an old car that had clearly seen better days. He approached the cash pay window and gave the attendant $3.00. Before he could walk away, the man in line behind him handed the cashier a 20 dollar bill and told him to add the 20 to the man's pump. The man broke into tears and thanked the kind stranger profusely. The generous man looked embarrassed and responded to the man with a simple, "Happy to do it. It makes my day to be able to help out." Yes, there are good people out there, but we rarely hear about them because they aren't looking for praise or recognition.

Ocala Florida. Stopped at Publix. Lady in front of me with 2 carts of food. Using all kinds of coupons, rebate slips and tried to pay with her EB card or whatever we give to shame the poor. Came up way short. Started crying. For some reason I handed the clerk a couple of bills and said give her the change. She lost it. Was taking care of a bunch of grandkids on government benefits. Clerk started crying, lady in line behind me started crying then big southern boy me started crying. Which I just do not fucking do in public!

That resulted in an anger I carry today. What kind of country makes a lady in that situation depend of the hand out of strangers? I am getting pissed as I type this post!

The young men in this video will live a satisfied life. They have their priorities straight.
