If so, I suspect that it will come with a story line to the effect of ..."I tried to educate those evil liberals but they were just so intolerant."

Network had to pay her contract in full.

I get the feeling it would have come to that much sooner than later. So she gave the network the excuse to dump her now.

What would the network have to pay??? Her full contract amount?? That would hurt..
It seems that the network would have some sort of escape clause incase she got batshit stupid and said something dumb......... like now...

Well THAT sucks out loud.. For a big company like NBC it seems pretty stupid. They knew what they were getting and they did not protect them selfs from her stupidity...

NBC knew what they were getting. They also know by now her ratings are abysmal.
So maybe using the remark as a way of dumping her, and paying her to fade away. call it her decision to leave, etc.
