General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThere is a very basic fact---a "truth", if you will---that those discussing how to "unite our
nation" and "get past the hate" seem to be ignoring: there are no plausible paths to healing that do not BEGIN with getting rid of Trump and his regime. Until that is accomplished, we will simply continue to o gnash our teeth and rend our garments while he continues to pack the courts with his disciples and hand ever more control to billionaires and their corporate fronts.
By whatever means necessary (and legal), Trump has to go. Winning the upcoming midterms is the first step in evicting him and repudiating what he and his cult stand for.

(10,749 posts)We also need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission along the lines of what transpired in South Africa after the election in 1994.
On the one hand, it would be absolutely wonderful to see all of them charged and convicted of a whole host of crimes.
At the same time, maybe once we get beyond Trump and his inner circle - all of whom need to go on trial - we can skip the trials and settle, if that's the right word, for admissions of guilt, apologies, and prohibitions on running for office.
On the other hand, maybe that's a little too kumbaya and we should just throw the book at all of them.
