The authorities are suggesting the MAGA Bombs came from Florida. Presumably that is because of the postmark. One would assume the MAGA Bomber was at least smart enough to mail them from an area where he or she doesn't live, as to reduce the risk of apprehension.
What do ya'll sleuths think ?

(33,643 posts)Not to mention there's way more 'tracking' of mail, and way, way more surveillance cameras all over the place.
And the Unabomber was a pretty crafty cat. Good chance Mr. "Get 'er Done" is much less so.

this guy so far is showing no hint of any such cleverness.
and technology and our markets for materials are far more readily tracked these days.
i doubt this guy will evade law enforcement for long.

(5,916 posts)"Forever stamps" on them placed by the sender not the Post Office. They were probably placed in a drop box. Since they are soft and
irregular packages they wouldn't have gone through an automated machine to get a postmark. The only FL connection that I have heard is the Wasserman return address.

(99,710 posts)Not every package that goes through the post office doesn't have a postmark ?

(52,257 posts)it's possible that the post office didn't deliver some of these things.
someone could put stamps on a package then hand-deliver it to the destination and place it in or near a post office box.
i don't think that happened in this case, but that's one way a package could have stamps without a postmark.

(99,710 posts)It would make sense for the MAGA Bomber to mail it from somewhere else.

For example, one method I have read about somewhere, if he carried his phone on him and they can pinpoint the suspect to a number of locations at a certain time. They could get records of which phones were pinging in those areas and look for a common number. So if he used multiple post offices, that could be enough.

My hunch is he's simply a bitter man, wholly filled with a rage produced, manufactured and distributed by hate radio who thinks he's doing Trump's work.

That would still be an initial lead they would follow. Heck it could have been Ebay or a flea market. But it is a start.

(5,914 posts)And by fairly soon, I mean within a couple of weeks.
It took years to catch the Unabomber. Times have changed considerably since then. There are now cameras EVERYWHERE. People now WILLINGLY share EVERYTHING they ever do on social media. It will not take long for authorities to put all of these pieces together and arrest this clod.
