Meghan McCain: I Contributed to the Country's Polarization by Saying I 'Hate' Hillary Clinton

by Ken Meyer | Oct 25th, 2018, 11:51 am

The View, on Thursday, discussed the continued deterioration of political discourse. And co-host Meghan McCain acknowledged that she has played a role with some of her heated commentary in the past.

As the nation deals with the fallout from this week’s multiple bomb scares, McCain told her colleagues that she’s done a lot of soul searching recently about the rhetoric she puts forward on TV. She specifically cited a moment earlier this year when she embraced President Donald Trump‘s “Crooked Hillary” moniker for Hillary Clinton.

“I said I hate Hillary Clinton and I called her Crooked Hillary and it’s one of the things I regret doing because I contributed on television. Now this is not saying that I agree with her. I have many vast differences of opinion on philosophy and ideology and I didn’t think she was a great candidate, but hate is not a word that should be coming out of my mouth on television about someone of a different political persuasion.”

McCain called on media figures to hold themselves accountable to “the same standard that I would like to hold the president.”

Seriously what else but "fuck off" does she expect people to say in reply to this?

"Oh this person could have died, I guess I was on shit". So if no package was sent, calling her Crooked Hillary was okay?

Which I think is adorable. But if I’m in the room and the women opens her mouth he has to pause the TV and listen to me rant about what a dumbass she is

And this is more dumbassery. From what I can tell, She’s not actually stupid, but shallow and self centered with very poor critical thinking skills.

She annoys the crap out of me.

She constantly dominates the discussion by spewing right wing nonsense, talking over and talking down the other people at the table, and then frantically searches the faces of the audience members for some affirmation. I've never seen anyone try so hard to constantly be offended. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic.

If she wants to espouse conservative views, fine. But she needs to tone down the angry screeching and listen to what other people have to say.

I suspect this "apology" has more to do with her being worried about blow back, than anything else.

I wonder if she had any success?

I suppose it's to her credit that now, at long last, she has a bit of understanding of the connection between reckless comments broadcast from a national platform and reckless actions that some of our less stable citizens might take based on those comments. Brava, I guess. Will she be working with her ideological fellow travelers to be more watchful, or is this a one-off, my bad, back to the previous setting in a week or a month from now?

Her words were instrumental in helping Trump get within reach of the White House.

Now she's hoping her expression of contrition will absolve her of that.

No way. You have the country you wanted, lady. Deal with it.

Is Meghan McCain anti choice? Does she support separating immigrant children from their parents? Does she support withdrawal from the Paris Accord? Does she not think climate change is manmade? Does she think women should earn less than men? Does she believe in regressive taxes? Is she against CHIP, healthcare, and food stamps? Does she want to end Social Security?

No, she's been brainwashed if you ask me. And her super-conservative husband doesn't help matters any.

work across party line to get things done, especially for her State. But when she decided to run for President and got a huge following and it looked like she should win based on her knowledge and experience and her ideas she became "crooked Hillary" to folks on both sides of the aisle. I never have understood the women's hate of Hillary. She is a fighter for her beliefs and a fighter to keep her family in tact. She raised a beautiful daughter inside and out and has adorable grands that she adores. Go figure.

She has seldom ever even criticized anyone, just advocates for her causes. A brilliant woman. Even claiming misogyny doesn't really explain it either. Even other women claim the hate for her.

So, my observation is based on occasional photos I have seen of Ms. McCain over the last few years, with some big gaps in time between.

Now, I realize there are many reasons for binge eating, but I know one of them can be loneliness and frustration. The photos I have seen of her over the last few years have her going from a somewhat normal weight to a current borderline obese. She is not exactly an underprivileged woman, so I suspect her problems with Hillary and her comments fawning over the extremist right stem from something deeper than just a loose mouth on the air.

It is the only the rare Legacy Host worth watching.

The no-talent, no-skill 1% is everywhere promoting their their destructive agenda. McCain is also an heiress. I wonder if she donates her entire salary to a non-family charity.
