What I'm watching for is whether the media change the tone of their coverage. Will they, at long last, call out the incendiary rhetoric for what it is now that they are undeniably being targeted? The massacre at the Capital Gazette in Maryland didn't make much of a difference. Will the on-air evacuation of CNN's studios move the needle? The media have sat on important stories before because they didn't want to influence the election. Will they grit their teeth and hang with their preferred narratives because they don't want to raise public consciousness about the dangers facing us all because it might damage the campaigns of Republicans? Or will they say, "Enough," and get about the business of informing their audience instead of bamboozling them?

Occam's razor (or Ockham's razor) is a principle from philosophy. Suppose there exist two explanations for an occurrence. In this case the one that requires the least speculation is usually better. Another way of saying it is that the more assumptions you have to make, the more unlikely an explanation.

The most likely explanation is that the MAGA Bomber was a Trumper who hates libs and wanted to kill prominent libs. He is not a Trumper who is doing this to get caught and then claiming to be a lib. He or she will have a history.

You see you violated Occam's Razor by adding two assumptions. The first assumption is the MAGA Bomber wants to get caught and the second assumption is when the MAGA Bomber is caught he or she is going to pretend to be a liberal.
