At least that's the way the networks are saying anyway, in this time and age the Networks arent very shy about why a person is leaving and that they have known about this for 3 months or so, and she wants to move out of the morning puff pieces that morning network people are apt to do. She stated she wants to do more political stories at a later time in the day (evening).

Sure, she may be the former face of Fox News. She also has the full wrath of Donald Trump (any enemy of my enemy) helped in taking down Roger Ailes and spread the truth how sick it was to actually have to work there as a female. I can't say I know her any more than that to be honest. I never watched her on FOX and I don't wake up in time to watch her in the morning. So there could be things about her I don't know.

Im not privy to her past sins in life (or if they are forgivable). But I wouldnt mind giving her another chance in a more political commentary spotlight to actually see where she is, or how bad she has drunk the kool-aid.

I just watched a few tidbits of her show. It wasn't a popular show, so I guess this is no surprise.

I do remember that she stood up to Trump, when few others would.

I think some have been too harsh on her. Like her apology for the blackface thing. I thought the apology was good. It seemed sincere (I heard her give it on tv). When you talk on tv a lot, any person is bound to say something controversial.

She's clearly establishment Republican. That doesn't make me hate her. So she worked for Fox. She's in tv trying to earn a living. Not many would turn down a plumb job at a major network. She probably applied to several.

Still...she's not a great host. She just didn't fit that show or format or something. She was interviewing Jane Fonda and Redford about their upcoming movie a while back, and she asked Fonda if she'd had cosmetic surgery or something! Very inappropriate, and Fonda being Fonda...she said as much. "I'm here to discuss a movie, and you ask me THAT?" Not a great moment.

but she has said some stupid things in her career. Really stupid things. I'm not surprised by this decision.

However... What was NBC management thinking to begin with? Some of this was there fault. (Not her racist comments but her overnight ratings.)

I'll never know why they put her on the Today show, something anathema to her style.

Nobody asked for that.

Nobody wanted that.

They should have doubled down on her newsmagazine program but instead jumped the gun and canceled it very early on. A newsmagazine like that takes time to build an audience and NBC's scheduling conflicts made things worse. The ratings for her newsmagazine show was at least 50% NBC's fault. People tend to tune into shows with a consistent schedule

And putting her on a morning show was just ridiculous!

She's an establishment center-right reporter. NOTHING about her screams "Friendly face I want giving me cookie recipes first thing in the morning!"

When you see Megyn Kelly's face you expect news commentary. You don't expect dating advice with the Kardashians.

It's incongruent to her brand.

For example, when I see Madonna's face I expect pop music. If she gave me opera, I'd want a refund.
