San Diego newspaper and local office for Sen. Kamala Harris evacuated after suspicious package arrives

San Diego newspaper was evacuated — along with the local offices for Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) — as part of a string of suspicious packages sent to media companies and Democratic elected officials nationwide.

Police were called just after 8 a.m. Wednesday local time to the building that houses the San Diego Union-Tribune to investigate the suspicious package, the newspaper reported.

One of the newspaper’s reporters said all 24 floors of the Procopio building were evacuated by the threat, and police closed off 6th Avenue between A and B streets to traffic.
