I'm sure he's on someone's list of dissidents.

I hope his book sales are doing well.

How the fuck did we get to this place? I don’t understand how this thing ever landed in the White House. I hate(d) W but his failings pale in comparison with the blatant and inappropriate criminality of Dolt45.

as leader of the free world.

I thought Bush was a doofus and I almost never agreed with his political positions, but I never felt he was pure evil whose only intent was to destroy the nation and long-standing global alliances.

What kind of asshole thinks the most important thing to do is repaint Air Force One in a scheme that pleases him?

15. I fully agree. He, Cheney and Rumsfeld should be tried in the Hague for crimes against humanity.

I'm just saying he never had Kanye West using the word "motherfucker" in the Oval Office, or called the press the "enemy of the people." I know that's a low bar to clear, but that's where we seem to be right now. Trump's only view of the presidency is how he can use it to enrich himself and to punish his enemies, real or imaginary.

Bush's war on Iraq will go down in history as one of the most hideous acts since the Holocaust.

Trump just took the whip from them by flat out saying what they spent decades mealy mouthing around.

But, honestly, it started with them bending to him because they feared the base, but end of the day they just as easiliy have succumbed to their own festering vile nature ...

When he came down the escalator, I told people he was no joke, and a REAL threat to win the nomination because he embodied what the GOP/Republicans/Conservatism had devolved in to.

Until this country flat out calls it for what it is, and stops with this inane, "they both are same" bullshit, we are going to keep sliding into full on fascism.

remember Paul Krugman's definitive piece in the NY Times on the republicans riling up the malcontents who were unhappy with having to be PC? It was a long, long time ago, like back in the early bush years, I think. I've searched for that column and never have been able to locate it, even in his archives. Regardless, its thesis has never left my thoughts when I observe how republicans behave. They put together a group of crackpots from a variety of sources and yep, this is indeed what the fruition: Le Grande Crackpot, Donald Trump. He truly is the monster they've cultivated, but I don't think they ever dreamed they would grow such a freak (simply because they lack imagination).

But they have, and now they have to, as you say, "feed it."

I edited my post to add "unhappy to be PC" because by definition, I am a malcontent. And so are many others. Nothing wrong with being a malcontent, as long as its not in the cause of hurting other people.

We need a strong, fearless candidate with a lot of self-confidence to weather his blabber and slobber. I have yet to identify one...anybody else? Could be that it's too soon. Perhaps the midterms will advise as to who will or can step out of the Democratic crowd.

I know this is redundant but watching him is like watching JFK and RFK and I'm old enough to remember first hand. I watched the first televised debates with Nixon and JFK...riviting. Even as a child, I could feel the power.

Still getting used to seeing all of these historical events on You Tube. What the heck did we do before You Tube????

And RFK...

Some things do not change...but I'm proud to be a Democrat from the Kennedy Era. As many know, RFK was killed while giving a speech. I couldn't bring myself to look for that, as I saw it on TV, too.

On Edit: There were no teleprompters. Notes held rolled up in his hands. He was speaking from his heart and from his solid beliefs.

Trump is every bit as ugly and unappealing as sweaty, greasy Nixon was in the debate as well and with that pile of hay on his head couldn't look more plastic and inauthentic. And while Beto may not have the pedigree that RFK had neither does Dump.
