early voting hints a huge turnout. 4.3 million have already voted

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/412263-early-voting-hints-at-huge-turnout

More than 4.3 million Americans have already cast their ballots in the midterm elections, and early signs point to a huge increase in turnout from the last midterm elections in 2014, when overall voter participation hit a 70-year low.

The robust turnout in the first days of early voting in some states dovetails with other indications that voter enthusiasm is higher this year than in previous years. More voters showed up to cast ballots in party primaries than in years past, and polls show more voters say they are enthusiastic about or closely following news about the election than in prior contests.

“All signs point to a higher turnout election,” said Michael McDonald, a political scientist at the University of Florida who closely tracks early vote tallies. “Where we can make comparisons, so far the numbers are up from 2014. Which is not a surprise because 2014 was an exceptionally low turnout election.”

Nearly 26 million ballots have been requested or mailed to voters around the country, according to McDonald’s tally. That’s more than the approximately 25 million voters who cast a ballot early in the 2014 midterms, either by mail or in person. Millions more will vote in person when early voting locations open in their areas.

Go Dems. Get out the vote and stop the destruction of our country that the GrOPers have foisted upon us.

Do not be distracted by Kavanaugh, the caravan etc. Our mission is to take back a country ravaged in every way by these foolks.

We WILL Make America Great Again, after the ruination that fools like Trump and W have caused. Obama got us out of W's mess, but only we can get us out of Trump's/GrOPers mess.

Then we can stop their voter suppression and make sure government reflects the governed.

probably, like most internet memes, they are made up.

However, I do believe that the higher turnout is, the higher the probability that Dems win.

They always show up. When there's an unusual spike in turnout, it's because other kinds of voters (single women, minorities, and younger people) are showing up. It's definitely not to the GOP's advantage.

The higher the voter turnout, the better for democratic candidates. Hopefully this keeps up. Of my inner extended family of 10 (six adults including me, my wife, my parents, and my brother and sister-in-law) are all ex-GOP who are voting or have voted early in Georgia, Virginia, and Washington State. I can't remember us ever discussing midterm elections before, and I'm the political nerd of the family.

Hopefully that's a trend across the country,.

Early signs point to a high turnout among Republicans, but there still a lot of time...not to mention Election Day itself. So I wouldn't read too much into it outside of the fact that I think this is going to be one of the biggest midterm elections in recent history. That historically has favored Democrats and the Left in general.
