8:00 PM, it should be a good one.
Although he's appeared a few times on the news and some talk shows, this is the first chance anyone outside of Florida will have a chance to see Gillum "in action" over an extended period of time.
From what I've seen of the two candidates, Gillum should wipe the floor with DeSantis.

He's a great speaker. He won me over at a primary gubernatorial forum with all the Democratic candidates. He had clear, well-thought out answers, real policies and could draw on his experience as Tallahassee Mayor.
DeSantis has Dotard - that is all. A singularly unaccomplished congress critter. His bumper stickers actually say "Endorsed by Trump." That literally is all he's got.

(58,785 posts)The #1 issues for almost all Floridians is healthcare. Gillum has a plan; unfortunately, "Medicare for all" has 0 chance of being implemented in Florida, while "Obamacare" has been trashed from both the appallingly irresponsible extremist left and the right, so he'll need to explain convincingly just how voting for him will give Floridians the healthcare they need in 2019.
DeSantis has no plan, but has been claiming that he will, and he might roll out one in this debate. We know it'd be phony, but people only have to have hope long enough to vote. In any case, expect him to obfuscate with the terminology the right has been trained to support passionately instead of substance.
