Snap card

Was in line this morning grocery store and the cashier told this young lady. That her snap card does not cover clementines I found that odd.

My SNAP card covers all cold food, it just doesn’t cover hot deli. But it may vary from state to state.

I don’t understand it was just her and I in line. I told cashier just put them on my bill I had no cash just my debit card.

I have had that happen with items before, the cashier should have investigated the problem as there is no reason that item should have been rejected.

They fall into what a snap card can purchase. All I can think is somehow they scan as "not food" due to a data entry error. Just like many times you find an item will scan at the wrong price.
