On the Mexican side of a border bridge, they were met by a phalanx of police with riot shields. About 50 managed to push their way through before officers unleashed pepper spray and the rest retreated.
The gates were closed again, and police used a loudspeaker to address the masses, saying, We need you to stop the aggression.
Mexican federal police chief Manelich Castilla, speaking from the border town of Ciudad Hidalgo, told Foro TV that his forces achieved their main objective of preventing a violent breach by the 3,000-plus migrants. In a separate interview with Milenio television, he accused people not part of the caravan of attacking police with firecrackers and rocks.

(182,947 posts)Well it WAS organized in some way but the implication here is that it's that dark oh so powerful liberal cabal who were able to organize people hundreds of miles away in another country and all these people just said "Okay. Sure. I'll pick up everything and go on a dangerous trip just to make you happy"

(36,747 posts)But a wall wont stop it. They will come by land, sea and air. Millions of them.
Eventually Canada and the northern states will have to deal with even refugees from the Southern states as they go underwater.

(19,276 posts)As immigration issues along the US southern border continue to roil the country, one driving force of migration from troubled Central American countries has received relatively little notice: climate change.
Author and journalist Todd Miller, who has written a new book called, "Storming the Wall: Climate Change, Migration, and Homeland Security," says climate change is a key factor forcing families to flee from Central America and Mexico and deadly droughts, hurricanes, floods and mudslides are projected to intensify further in the region as global warming increases, which will hit small farmers especially hard.
Frankly, I've given up hope on us not militarizing the border due to this. I look at European nations, far more liberal than us, rapidly swinging right and clamping down their borders due to the stream of Middle Eastern refugees coming in. If they can't be compassionate enough to take in those people, how will we do so?
In 20 years I wouldn't be surprised if we had full-on military partols along the border, with both Democrats and Republicans in support, as millions try to move north.

(11,294 posts)The scene knocking down the gate fires up the pukes illegal aliens lie. I see desperate people wanting freedom. The pukes see lawlessness. That's right out of Putin's playbook. Divide at every opportunity. That's why. Peace.
