Gloom and doom. Dems have no message, they're unfocused, GOP is going to win!
The horse-race the media needs is being created before our eyes.
(I watched for a few minutes and turned it off).

(1,822 posts)I decided after the Kavanaugh insanity, I would read the news versus watching it.
They gave Tiny far too much free air time. Still do.
My advise, do what you can for a Democratic campaign and vote on November 6.

Comparing Watergate to what is going on in the Trump White House. We can only hope.

(7,429 posts)The fact that they have Podheretz on at all always makes me cringe.
MSNBC - this great "Liberal network" - devotes 3 hours a day to right-wing ideology. The 2 of them along with Willie Geist make me sick. They don't tell the truth, they just want a fight. They aren't interested in what is actually going on in this country. They just want to show you what Trump did last night. It's the only way they run their show now!

(23,362 posts)I don't hear any consistent message on issues. Who's talking about improving and expanding health care, or lowering the cost of pharmaceuticals, or lowering the national debt by increasing taxes on the rich?
I voted Dem because I hope those are on the agenda, and, of course, because they're not Repugs.
Is there a good consistent national message from the Dem leadership this year?

(7,429 posts)Gillum running for Governor has made it a central part of his campaign to expand Medicaid in this state
Lauren Baer running for Congress against a Republican has made pre-existing conditions a central part of her campaign. Why? Because her opponent Brian Mast voted to gut that in the House.
Bill Nelson has consistently talked about his vote to keep the ACA. And he talks about the fact that pRick Scott stole money from Medicare and that's how he got rich!
Sean Shaw who is running for Attorney General has an ad saying it's easier to get a gun here in Florida than cover people with pre-existing conditions because of his opponent who voted to gut the ACA.
Every state is different, but Florida is running it all about healthcare. I don't think we need a centralized message because every state has it's own issues

(31,464 posts)And even here, there is a consistency. The local messages are about health care and Trump's reckless policies. The big national issues happen during the Presidential election. Now, we're just trying to replace the complicit local politicians.

(58,785 posts)to listen instead of read. "Morning Joe's" First Look has the MSNBC bias, inevitably of course, but its news-oriented format isn't a constant propaganda delivery device. And she's a sensible pistol with a economics orientation.
I skip Joe altogether and the rest of the daytime lineup. That's for those who want reassurance that lies about Democrats are the real truth.
