House Freedumb Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) on Thursday called on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to resign "immediately."
I think at this particular point, Rod Rosensteins priorities are misplaced. His unwillingness to come before Congress and allow us to conduct proper congressional oversight, along with the other information that weve learned over the last week or so, would indicate that Rosenstein has not displayed the candor of which would support ones theory of actually believing that he has been open and honest in all regards," Meadows told reporters.
"So with that, I think that its time that Rod Rosenstein steps down. He should do so immediately and in doing that, I think it would serve the country well, it would serve this president well," he added.
The comments marked Meadows's most explicit call yet for Rosenstein's resignation. House Freedom Caucus members had previously said Rosenstein should either testify before Congress or resign from his post.

(82,849 posts)I'm sure the strongly worded statement by a non-ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management will really have an effect at the Department of Justice.
You know that influence you think you have right now, Congressman? It's going to go bye-bye very soon. Tick tock, motherfucker.

(2,119 posts)And talk about how your concept of "congressional oversight" and mine differ greatly? Hell, I won't even bring up the word PROPER that you think is so important that you included it in your statement.
