One day in 2014, I came home to find my stove sitting squarely in the middle of my living room. With all my furniture arranged around the perimeter of the room, the appliance looked like a ship run aground at low tide. In its wake was a void in the corner of my kitchen and jagged, fist-sized holes where its pipes had been torn from the wall.
This sight was less of a shock than youd think. The underlings of my buildings management company, Westminster City Living, regularly entered my apartment without my consent, ostensibly to work on restoring the buildings cooking gas, which hadnt worked since Id moved in two months prior. Every time I unlocked my front door, I wondered what incompetent workers had left in my apartment while Id been gone.
On that day, the unmoored stove wasnt the only unsightly surprise the Westminster workers had left for me. In my bathroom, I discovered, to my jaw-dropping horror, the ultimate affront: an unflushed shit.
Id grown used to the dirty boot prints tracked around my kitchen, the gaping holes drilled into the ceiling above my fridge, the power tools left on the counter next to my cereal. But this this foul-smelling present floating in my toilet? This was too much. I cursed the owner of Westminster, the man whom I ultimately held responsible for my year of renter hell: Jared Kushner.

(32,680 posts)People should know what a terrible landlord he is. Of course he has no direct management of his own companies, he's too busy trotting off to Washington DC all the time. But the managers answer to him, and he collects the profits.
People should avoid any buildings owned by Kushner or Westminster City Living. Do not sign a lease!

(10,885 posts)In this episode of The Golden Girls, Dorothy and Stan are accused of being slumlords by the tenants of the apartment building they jointly own. As their punishment, the judge sentences them to live in one of their rental units for a month under the same unbearable conditions as their tenants. Of course, their experience is complicated by the fact that they've been long divorced, but it's just the cherry on top of the pudding as far as what they go through during their internment.
It would be glorious to see that prim, manscaped, metrosexual Kushner have to exist - with or without his Princess Bride - in the very conditions he offers his tenants. If he's ever brought to trial, the prosecutor should offer this as the proper settlement of a Kushner conviction.
