Trump defends decision to not yet visit troops in a combat zone.

TRUMP: VISITING A BASE IN A COMBAT ZONE ‘NOT OVERLY NECESSARY’: President Donald Trump defended his decision to break from his predecessors and not yet visit a military base in a combat zone, claiming it's “overly necessary” in a wide-ranging interview with The Associated Press.

Asked why he had not yet done so, Trump said:

“Well, I will do that at some point, but I don’t think it’s overly necessary. I’ve been very busy with everything that’s taking place here.

"We have the greatest economy in the history of our country. I mean, this is the greatest economy we’ve ever had, best unemployment numbers. Many groups are, you know, we’ve never even been close to these numbers.

"I’m doing a lot of things. I’m doing a lot of things. But it’s something I’d do. And do gladly. Nobody has been better at the military. Hey, I just got them a pay raise. I haven’t had a pay raise in 11 years. I just got them a substantial pay raise. ‘They’ meaning our military people.'

'Mr. President, I am telling you as a former commander that troops in combat need to see their Commander in Chief. It is a huge deal when one visits, and it doesn’t go unnoticed when there’s been no visit. Cancel a rally or two, and go see our troops, now.'

Really? Doing what? A full quarter of your time in office has been spent golfing, which as a candidate you said you wouldn't have time to do. It's not overly necessary? Not sure what that's supposed to mean, but it doesn't sound very supportive of the troops. I wonder what kind of shoutycracker media controversy would ensue if Barack Obama had said that? I guess we'll see if these remarks generate any kind of reaction in the media.

Even worse: in a combat zone they're not likely to have golf carts.

And he sure as hell can't afford to skip any of those mini-Nuremburg ego feeding sessions with his slavering, brain-dead, hyper-white base, now can he? And what about his note-scrawling idea sessions with the world's vilest dictators who come to the White House? Or composing all those twitter rants while on the shitter in the morning? Don't forget the periodic blow jobs from Sean Hannity. Our fighting forces will just have to wait.

so he can continue to squander our hard-earned tax dollars by allowing the republicans to pamper him with long, luxurious, glorious, golden, gourmet golf goof-offs (estimated $3 million waste of our tax money every time he indulges). Sick. Sick republican values.

Calling him a commander in chief is going way way over board. The only thing he is in command of is big mac and a tv set.
