bring home enough pay for his family to buy a second house. There must be other senators living below the poverty line who would share a house or condo, cheap canned food, Uber rides, etc. Both of you would benefit. Ted could get his second home. Maybe you could get an old VW bus.

But I realized I would not have the restraint to call the "gentleman" on the other side a gentleman and not the asshole I think he is.

You're impoverished by your 6 figure salary, no power or privilege from your title as Senator, and you do all this by choice - and then no one thanks you for your service and hardship.
