A timely slogan if there ever was one.

Many immigrants from Latin America are very familiar with how suddenly, or insiduously, democracy can be overturned. They know.

It can mean either "asshole" or "idiot" when used in the idiom.

I guess either one fits here.

For those that don't speak Spanish, the first line asks how are you going to vote. the choices are Democrat or Pendejo. Pendejo is spanish for a pubic hair. Where I come from it is also slang to refer to someone who is not very brave. If you are a pendejo, you are a coward. Not nice.
