https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/10/17/1805047/-What-does-early-voting-look-like-in-Georgia-Massive-turnout-long-lines-and-voter-suppression"n-person early voting began in Georgia on Monday and, by the numbers, its off to an incredible start. On the first day alone, 69,049 people voteda massive increase compared to the 20,898 people who participated in the first day of in-person early voting during the last midterm election in 2014. Though more people voting is always a good thing, it has not been without problems. As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, some early voters in Cobb County had to wait in lines for more than two hours, and others in Fulton County encountered delays because of technical difficulties.
Unfortunately, today doesnt look any better, as lines reached a 3 hour estimated wait in Cobb County. "

(No offense intended to the good people who live in Cobb County, who include about half of my relatives.)

(32,720 posts)My strategy worked out because I was in and out. There was a steady stream of voters coming in and out, but there were no long lines or delays. I know everyone doesn't have the luxury of choosing various locations and/or early afternoon times. Really sucks. Early voting is supposed to be convenient!
Also, anyone who early votes should make sure to go to their voter page and click the link that says "Click here for Absentee Ballot status" and make sure it shows your date of voting and "Status: Accepted."
