Column: Trump calls Stormy Daniels 'horseface' — Melania, we have a Be Best emergency

To First Lady Melania Trump:

I am writing to inform you that your husband, President Donald Trump, just sent out a tweet referring to a female U.S. citizen as “horseface.” Because of your passionate commitment to stopping online bullying and harassment, I thought you might want to know. Perhaps you can knock on the bathroom door at the White House residence and remind your husband to “Be Best.”

Because he’s not being best. Not at all. Not even a tiny, little bit.

The woman he called “horseface” is Stormy Daniels. I’m sure you’ve heard of her. Some say she looks a bit like your stepdaughter, Ivanka Trump, which is creepy, since Daniels claims she had an affair with your husband while you were home caring for your newborn child. (You might want to consider sending a note to Ivanka reassuring her that her father doesn’t think she looks like a horse.)

Given your tireless dedication to eradicating the scourge of online bullying and name-calling, I’m sure you’ll agree that even if we are angry at someone, we shouldn’t resort to insulting another person’s appearance. That can be hurtful and, perhaps more importantly, it can set a precedent for others to engage in similarly hurtful behavior.

Let me quote from your Be Best campaign website at www.whitehouse.gov/bebest:

“When children learn positive online behaviors early-on, social media can be used in productive ways and can effect positive change. Mrs. Trump believes that children should be both seen and heard, and it is our responsibility as adults to educate and reinforce to them that when they are using their voices — whether verbally or online — they must choose their words wisely and speak with respect and compassion.”

I’m pretty sure that “horseface” is not a wisely chosen word. And your husband, the president of the United States of America, was certainly not speaking with respect or compassion.

You recently told ABC News that you might be “the most bullied person” in the world, so surely the sight of a powerful man publicly insulting a woman motivates you to take a stand against such abusive name-calling.

Remember how upset Republicans were when a comedian at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner made a joke about White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ eye shadow? That was a comedian. The horseface insult came in a tweet from your husband, which constitutes an official presidential statement.

So, at the moment, the official presidential line is that Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress whom your husband paid $130,000 to keep quiet about an alleged affair, is a horseface.

None of this is being best, Mrs. First Lady. Parents everywhere now have to explain to their children that it’s not nice to call someone horseface, even if you’re angry at that person. It’s not nice or funny to make up insults about another person’s appearance, even if the president of the United States does it while sitting around watching Fox News and rage-tweeting.

So please, in the interest of being best, and in keeping with your campaign for online decency, find your husband right now, smack the phone out of his inordinately tiny hands and tell him to knock it off.

He’s setting a bad example for literally everyone on Earth. I’m sure you’ll tend to this right away. Because the last thing you would want is for people to call you a naked hypocrite who makes empty promises while propping up one of the most disreputable, offensive, hurtful human beings this country has ever known.

11. My husband made an interesting observation. He wondered if Tiny had ever called Ivanka

"horseface," because there is a little bit of a resemblance between Princess and Stormy. Maybe that's why he was so hot to have sex with Stormy.
