Tonight's Pet Political Peeve
On Don Lemon’s CNN show tonight, Scott Jennings just referred to a Democratic position as “this is what the voters rejected in 2016”.
I’ve heard this over and over from Republicans – and it’s never called out.
The voters did NOT reject Democratic policies – the majority voted FOR them by virtue of having voted for Hillary.
In point of fact, the voters rejected Trump and his party when they cast their ballots for HRC.
Hillary won the popular vote by 3,000,000 votes. That fact should be driven home every time a Republican talks about what the voters accepted or rejected in 2016.
The voters spoke loud and clear in the last election. They chose to vote for Hillary, not Trump. They chose to vote for Democratic policies, not GOP policies.
I love Don Lemon – but it pisses me off that he, and other media hosts of political news shows, never point out the indisputable fact that “the voters” said exactly the opposite of what the Republicans keep insisting they said.
